Tojop have built their reputation with/on the Corolla. Apart from minor local problems, they're resonably good at most things, and superior build to the opposition-if a little expensive.

If it's a used car. New cars lose value immediately after the sale. I wouldn't buy one with more than 100,000 miles/160,000 Kilometers on it unless you are a do-it-yourselfer and can stay on top of the repairs.
New cars not only cost more up front but then there's the cost of plates and insurance that can really spoil the new car smell and make you wish you had not given away so much money for a basic ride to work and shopping.
Otherwise, the Corolla is a time proven model and has a respectable service life and it gets decent mileage.
Good Luck!

We had a new Corolla which didn't have any problems surface until it had over 80,000 miles. We traded for a new Camry in 2002. It has almost 90,000 miles on it and have never had any problems. We just had our first engine tune up done. The only maintenance we have done is change the oil every 3,000 miles. (Oil changes are free for as long as we own the car.) We had new brakes put on after 75,000 miles and the others were still good. Go Figure! And we changed tires about 3 times.
I definitely will buy another Toyota!!!

I think that the Toyota Corolla is has the best value for a sedan. My family has two Corollas because of their high resale value, sturdiness and great service. Toyota is the favorite brand here in my country (Philippines) and you can notice that you can never pass a day without seeing a Toyota car. Although the Corolla is so popular here and I am getting sick of it, as a car, the Toyota Corolla is best in value! : ) Good luck in your car hunting!

I think so. Toyota and lexus are considered as the most probable cars to exceed the 100,000 miles road expectancy. This said by Consumer Reports.
