I'm trying to ck whether a local breeder is AKC certified. I'm having trouble finding the URL. Can anyone provide me with a link that will lead me to this process?

Thanks

Do remember that just because a breeder is registered with the AKC, it does not mean they are reputable and producing quality dogs. Be sure to get references and find out why they breed their dogs. If it isn't show or working lines and for pets only, I would not buy from that breeder.

Individual people & breeders are not members nor "certified" by AKC. The only members are clubs that make up the AKC.AKC is a dog registry that's all.

AKC doesn't CERTIFY breeders....They are a registry....
In other words, there is NO such list as "AKC" certified breeders....

EDIT: The AKC doesn't register, certify or in any way, recommend or License breeders....They are a purebred dog registry, which means they issue registration papers, pedigrees, and maintain show records.

Sorry but the AKC doesn't "certify" breeders. They register dogs, they register kennel names and the sanction shows & trials.

www.akc.org - hit breeders and do some searching. You should also find a contact number here and if your breeder can provide you with her registration number you can check.
