A Diana+ is best used in the hands of someone who has already established what makes a good image. It uses 120 film which is harder to get and have processed than 35mm film. I would recommend conquering a digital before purchasing an artsy camera.

Diana cameras are fun if you are not expecting a perfect photo. The photos that come from a Diana are not all that sharp, they have some light leaks (sometimes), and they are very minimalist cameras. They are more "artsy" than a normal issue camera. They take 120 film that is a little more pricey than 35mm but you can get it at any higher end camera store. If a university around you offers photography classes their bookstore or camera store will probably offer it.
Go for it and have a great time!! Holga's are great too!
