The cap is a silver color that has a circle with a line through it on the top. The bottom says 1845. The cap is slightly coroded. It still has medicine in it, it doesn't look used. I had discovered it in my family's old house, which had been abandoned for about 50 years.
I found a book on antique medicine bottles online, but didn't want to spend $35 for something that I will only use once. Any help will be appriciated. 10 points for best answer.

The cost of an appraisal, $10 and up, might turn out to be more than the bottle is worth. Try looking on EBay or see if there are any books at your library. Also, if there are any antique stores in your area, take a look and see what they have that's similar. You might also try googling antique medicine bottles or bottle collector's clubs.

Edit: Nearly forgot, the folks at Kovels may be able to help you. You can find them online.

In 1845, bottles were stoppered, not capped. It's probably made after WWI.
