No, removing the SCART cable will have no effect on your Sky box. If you want to reset it, unplug it from the mains for about half an hour.

No it won't effect anything.
Did you know you can buy a multi connector which you can plug 4 or 5 scarts in to at the same time (their quite cheap to buy) and would save you messing about with the back of the TV
One end plugs into the TV as normal and any other device such as a DVD player/Playstation/Sky etc at the other end.
If you have more than one thing switched on at the same time you'll get a funny screen so just make sure you only have 1 item powered up at any one time

I think it will be fine, the sky is powered by the outside dish which is connect to an arial on the box, not the scart lead, the scart lead just connects the box to the tv, if you look on the back of your sky box there should be a wire that it is connect by a bolt thats the arial, so taking the scart out will be fine.

It won't affect your Sky settings, but get yourself a 2, 3,or 4 scart into one, into which you plug all the scarts you are likely to use, with just the one scart from that going into the television. and whichever device you use will automatically be connected to the tv when you turn it on.
There are also many which have a button, which you press for the devise you want to use.
They are available in Argos, as well as other places.
Here's one on ebay, this is a 5 into 1, just to show you what I mean.
