There is a special diet that many people use that will cause white poo. I know this because I used to pet sit for a lady that was raising American Eskimo dogs. They mostly ate raw chicken (this is a special diet, do not go and feed your animal raw chicken or bones unless you know what you are doing). THey also had fish on one day of the week, eggs on another day and then a ground up mixture on another day. The rest of the time, they had chicken backs and necks.
Their poo was all white.

it depends on what the dog has eaten. Some content of ash in the poo turns it white when it dries. Modern dog foods have less ash, so it is more rare nowadays than it used to be.

"The disappearance of white dog poo is down to what dogs eat these days.
White dog **** is the calcium left behind as the water evaporates, and the 'organic' components of the crap are consumed (in various ways) leaving the inorganic stuff behind.
But nowadays dogs don't eat as much bone as they used to, including bone meal. Also, tighter regulation on dogs crapping on pavements means that turds don't hang around for years in public places like they used to, giving them less opportunity to dry out and turn white."

Yes. It might be mold or something beginning to grow, or old poop that has dried up.
Old, old horse poo grows a dusting of white mold as well.

Dogs that are raw fed have feces that turn white when exposed to the air. My dogs are raw fed and their poop turns white.
