Only you can ruin the relationship in this regard if you can not associate a sexual relationship with friendship. Not all friendships are sexual and vice-versa. It is a bonus to have both in the same relationship.

It depends if you want a great friendship for a long time or a good romance for a while. My friend did this but she only dated a friend and now they are broken up and cant seem to look at each other in the eye or speak a word.So if I was u I would have a best friend for a long time. Besudes there are many guys out there.

Well it depends on how strong ur friendship is--the best relationships comes from friendships and even if you guys break up it might take a lil bit b4 things get back to normal but if its a true friendship, nothin can get in the way of that

alot of friendships are ruined that way because usually you break up something like pet peeves even though you know each other so well, usually you are like lets remain friends but when that time comes you dont want to be around the other because of the thing that made you break. but if you want to risk it i would say go for it because otherwise you are just going to always wonder.

It depends on how close your friendship is, and how far the going out goes. It could make your relationship stronger, but if you break up, it could ruin what you have now. Good luck!

I am particularly curious about the phrase "when we break up". So you know before you go out that it will end - there is no point in destroying a friendship for a short-term physical relationship.

I was in this situation awhile ago and just decided to go for it. We've been together now 6 months as of yesterday and it's going good. I'd say just go for it .. I know at least in my situation if something comes up and we decide to call it quits we'll still be friends. Why not give it a try? You might regret it if you don't.

Congratulations, you already have a great foundation for a successful relationship, you are already best friends!!
but I think you already have reservations, you did say (when we break up) Maybe you've answered your own question already, I don't know your age,or how long you are best friends but rule of thumb 16-18 rarely works out. Whatever you decide I wish you happiness. A.T.B...... HERB.

Give it a chance. If it seems that things may be getting rocky, sit him down and tell him you don't want to go any further because you care about your friendship.
