Home made beef stew with dumplings. I'm working nights over Christmas, so I won't really have a dinner until after the 28th Dec when I have 5 nights off.

So for belated Christmas dinner I'm hoping to have roast pigeon with potatoes, parsnips, carrots. For pudding, probably chocolate roulade or a spicy apple tart with cream. Then later on, stollen cake, cheese, and a glass of beer.

If I can't get pigeon, then either duck or goose.

Way too much food. We have to satisfy the large number of Italians in our family, the two English, the one Swede, and then match it to an Australian summer (perfect beach weather).

Antipasti (small goods, cheeses, marinated vegetables); Lasagne; roast turkey with roast vegetables and cranberry sauce; cold prawns, oysters, smoked salmon and marinated octopus; and for dessert: yuletide log, traditional pudding with brandy sauce, and gelati.

Next year I think I'll just stay home and reheat leftovers!

Turkey is overpriced and boring so we had a big leg of lamb with lashings of mint sauce. Even the cat can't move round here, lol.
