I bought my boyfriend the transformers HD dvd for xmas. We have a HD ready telly and a HDMI dvd player. It didnt work, what is needed to make it work?

To play HD DVD you require a HD DVD Player. However there are some hybrid HD DVD's in the market which have both the HDDVD and DVD versions of the same movie on a single disc. The 'Transformers' DVD does not seem to be one of the hybrid ones.

Yes you will need a player that will play HD dvd's. Can't really think of any HD players but the blu-ray ones (which are still quite pricey) will definately play HD-DVD's. Sorry love, looks like you've wasted your time and money buying the HD-DVD.
