I am a Catholic, but I like to know a little about people of other faiths.

I know Muslims believe Jesus was only a Prophet and not God incarnate. And that his teachings were corrupted along with the Old Testament.[some how]

So I would like to know what if any of the Bible do you believe in, as well as what proof other than the teachings of Muhammed you have to support the idea of its corruption.

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah.
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #45)

Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #163)

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #171)

And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.
( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #46)

Curses were pronounced on those among the Children of Israel who rejected Faith, by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary: because they disobeyed and persisted in excesses.
( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #78)

Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'

They are advised to comply with the lessons of Mohammad. Muslims have the notion that as of now, the arena is a condominium of struggle Dar al-Harb & until it accepts Islam it is going to stay so. Thus, the obligation of each and every Muslim is to show this "condominium of struggle" to a "condominium of peace" Dar as-Salam. Now how do they gain it? The Quran supplies them with an answer. i.e kill non Muslims if they do not want Islam. "Muhammad stated, ‘You are commanded to convey out jihad in opposition to the unbelieving infidels till they put up to Islam' " (Qur'an forty seven:four) Qur'an (eight:12) & 107 different verses within the Quran echo the equal message of Jihad. Muslims also are given the guarantee that in the event that they kill non Muslims they are going to get everlasting rewards. Quran (nine.111): Allah hath bought of the believers their humans and their items; for theirs (in go back) is the lawn (of Paradise): they FIGHT IN HIS CAUSE, AND SLAY AND ARE SLAIN: a promise binding on Him in reality, via the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who's extra trustworthy to his covenant than Allah? then have fun within the discount which ye have concluded: that's the success preferrred. Verses like Qur'an (four:seventy four) & many others talk of everlasting rewards. So almost Muslims do not care even supposing they die at the same time doing their Jihad due to the fact that Allah has promised an everlasting present for them. Muslims that comply with Islam are very trustworthy toward their faith & they think that something is there within the Quran is for truly.

well we believe that all prophets of god were at a equal status
and that Jesus or Isa was a mighty prophet, Allah bless him
and that he indeed could heal the sick
well we believe the Bible or the Injeel was corrupted by the priests who taught people who did not know how to read
well i hope that clears up things
oh and we believe that there is only one god and there are no parts to him, he is one whole, the all-knowing merciful and gracious

Muslims believe what God has told them to believe in the revelations to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), otherwise called the Qur'an.

Islam is around today for the purpose of guiding humans to God's correct path, and to correct the distorted message that was reveled to the prophets of Judaism and Christianity (God's prophets - peace be upon them all) in the past. It's important to keep that in the back of your mind when you are reading or studying Islam.

I would suggest reading Surat (Chapter) Maryam (Mary) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryam_%28sura%29). It contains the story of Mary's birth to Jesus (pbuh).

The koran has not been re-translated, original texts exists. It had no council of Nicea decide what to keep and what to leave out or amend there by corrupting it like the latin bible.

The First Council of Nicaea, held in Nicaea in Bithynia (present-day Iznik in Turkey), convoked by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in 325, was the first Ecumenical council of the early Christian Church, and most significantly resulted in the first uniform Christian doctrine, called the Nicene Creed. With the creation of the creed, a precedent was established for subsequent 'general (ecumenical) councils of Bishops' (Synods) to create statements of belief and canons of doctrinal orthodoxy— the intent being to define unity of beliefs for the whole of Christendom.

The purpose of the council was to resolve disagreements in the Church of Alexandria over the nature of Jesus in relationship to the Father; in particular, whether Jesus was of the same substance as God the Father or merely of similar substance. St. Alexander of Alexandria and Athanasius took the first position; the popular presbyter Arius, from whom the term Arian controversy comes, took the second. The council decided against the Arians overwhelmingly (of the estimated 250-318 attendees, all but 2 voted against Arius). Another result of the council was an agreement on when to celebrate the resurrection (Pascha in Greek; Easter in modern English), the most important feast of the ecclesiastical calendar. The council decided in favour of celebrating the resurrection on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox, independently of the Hebrew Calendar (see also Quartodecimanism). It authorized the Bishop of Alexandria (presumably using the Alexandrian calendar) to announce annually the exact date to his fellow bishops.

The Council of Nicaea was historically significant because it was the first effort to attain consensus in the church through an assembly representing all of Christendom. "It was the first occasion for the development of technical Christology." Further, "Constantine in convoking and presiding over the council signaled a measure of imperial control over the church". Further, a precedent was set for subsequent general councils to create creeds and canons.
