I'm wondering if there would be any legal obstacles to doing this. Thanks

OK, maybe I should clarify--for some reason people seem to assume I would be planting non native species.--I want to plant nothing but home grown trees that are native to my area which is the northwest. So the issue of "contamination" is not an issue.

And Jim, I'm sure you'd like to believe your tax money goes to such a noble cause, but somehow I doubt the government spends a single penny on ensuring that no foreign plants are planted; nice thought tho; maybe you should write and propose the tax to your local representative.

You could get into a bit of trouble by doing this, but that has never stopped me.

It really pisses me off to see the diversity of our forests dwindling away. Any time I see 'official' planting efforts, they plant maybe half a dozen species. I believe they only grow the ones that are easy or cheap to purchase, while neglecting other important species.

I grow or purchase all sorts of endangered or at risk native plants just for the purpose of transplanting them into national parks, and other wild areas, to help bring their populations up, and add to the diversity.

I have a long 'lecturing rant' prepared if they ever catch me doing this.

Good luck to you. Its nice to know there are others out there planning to do the same thing.

No. You cant plant trees or release your pets. For the same reasons. They don't belong there. Trees that are not endemic or native are not wanted. Your trees may carry disease or insect pest. I personally would not want you to. My tax dollars go the ensure that American National Parks will be keep free of exotic species.

However, you can volunteer to help them plant trees. You can join an Arbor Fountain group.

acquire your community conservation place of work or pass to the park provider and ask, you're stepping on somebody's plans for the park, or they won't choose for the form of timber you choose for to plant. they could say pass forward, or they could have a distinct concept of the place they could desire to be planted. in spite of you do, do not do something without asking first, then you definately won't ought to complication approximately being arrested on your solid deed.

I thinl they try to keep the varieties of trees in those parks limited to ones that are locally-appropriate and non-invasive and that will fit with the varieties that are there already. If you know how to follow those rules you should have no problem. If you don't know what you are doing you and your trees will be unwelcome (and the trees should not be put there anyway).
