It's not a good idea to get a second hamster. It's okay to buy two hamsters together if they have always lived in the same cage but after one hamster has settled into the cage it's not a good idea. If you add one to the cage after the first has lived alone you run the risk of the hamsters fighting, hurting each other or even eating each other if you put them together. I've not experienced this myself but as stated above hamsters are solitary and territorial. You may go back to having one soon after you add a second.

Hamsters are very territorial pets. You can make a great friend for your hammie. If you think she's bored, why not get a hamster maze? Hmmn hamster ball provides good exercise to your hammie. 20 mins is ok. Not more than that as you will exhaust your pet. Do not place ball in stairs. Have play time with her. Play time should be same time everyday. Observe that she will always look forward to your play time! =)
If you put 2 hammies of same sex together, they would fight to death. And you don't want that, right?
Tell me how you get on with this.
=)

No, this is a bad idea.
Syrians are solitary animals, like said before. They WILL fight to the death.
Dwarf hamsters are social animals, but in order to live together peacefully they need to be from the same litter. Even then, living together doesn't always work out.
If introduced now, your dwarves WILL fight to the death.
Buy your hamster toys, make toys, interact with them. That's how you keep them from being bored.
This is a good website on hamsters:

Hamsters are salitary animals, so mentioned above. If she/he seems lonely, you should play with the hamster. Try to do this on a regular schedule and the hamster will seem a little more happy as time goes on. =]

Hamsters are solitary animals. They basically live on their own in the wild. Only a few species will allow cage mates. Other species will most likely fight to the death.

Hamsters are solitary animals, and will fight others, especially if they weren't raised together.
Sometimes the Dwarves allow a cagemate, but Syrians almost never do.
YOU are the hamster's companion.

Female hamsters don't fight. Two male hamsters fight. I have had a hamster before, and so has my sister. We out them in a cage together, and they were fine. Get another female hamster.
