Actually no, while you should still neuter him, this won't stop, it may calm down some, but I know lots of spayed/neutered dogs who do this. To tone it down, I would pick one toy and let him hump that. If he goes after another one, take it away and give him the chosen one. That way if you have company, you can put his "special" toy away and he won't embarrass you. It's fairly normal and the dogs I know that do this only do it occasionally so it's not really anything to fret about.

humping for a puppy is totaly normal. getting him fixed willl probably only decrease a little and not much but its possible.
when my puppy was little like that she used to hump her toys all the time. its gotten better but not much.
i also have a 16 yr old poodle that still humps teddy bears and such.

I have a neutered female dog and she has her favorite "toy". Sometimes is good for a long time and then picks up on it again. One good thing, I can put it up and she doesn't find anything else. Thank Heaven. Pretty embarrassing when you have company.

Even after he is fixed he may still do this is common for male dogs but it may not happen as much as he gets older or is fixed but you may need a dog trainer

It's ver normale for a dog to do this, it's like their masturbation. Just like it's normale for us to. He probably won't stop after hes fixed but he might calm down a bit. Some dogs just do it more than others.

the younger you have a male pup 'neutered' or 'de-sexed' the less liklihood of him exhibiting 'anti-social' male dog behaviour. you're doing the right thing by having him 'fixed' & he'll settle down soon afterwards.

i have a 11lb female blue tick beagle that humps legs more than any male dog i have ever known. it has to be natural due to the theory...if it feels good, do it.

Yes it's normal, he'll stop after he's fixed if not, then you have to discipline him!
