I was wondering, what exactly is carpal tunnel, and is it possible to get it at 16? How serious is it? I use my hands ALOT, I spend at least an hour on a paino everyday, even 2 sometimes, and at least 2 hours a day on a computer typing, so I am always using them, but they are very weak, and I am always having trouble with them, if I lift more than 10 pounds, and don't hold the weight right, so that the weight is resting on my arms and not my wrist, they will hurt for 2 weeks after, and my Mom said it was possible that I might be getting carpal tunnel, and I was wondering how serious that was. Will that affect being able to play the paino?

Sounds like you have what chiropractors call "over use syndrome". If you had numbness in your wrists, than that would be a symptom of cps, but just pain is from overworked tendons, which could lead to tendinitis. Wear supportive braces over your wrists to stabilize them by preventing bending at the joints. You'll have to stop playing piano while they heal, or they will get worse. One of the causes of over worked syndrome is hyper-mobile joints. This is the tendency for the bands that connect your bona to bone, to be too loose and flexible. Having loose ligaments allows your wrists to flex further than the tendons would like, which damages them. When you are picking things up, or putting pressure on your hands, they hyper-extend back too far than most people.

it is conceivable to have an electroconduction attempt that comes up nevertheless in the traditional selection whilst a affected person is symptomatic. look at what activities you're doing that is aggrevating this. you prefer your wrist in a independent place. it is the region the place your wrist is relatively bent lower back. in case you're making a fist such as you will pound on the table, your wrist would be in a independent place. Your arms are little marionettes controlled by employing strings (tendons) that circulate via your carpal tunnel. In a independent wrist place those tendons pass cleanly in the time of the carpal tunnel. in case you bend your hand lower back and circulate your arms, then the tendons rub against the carpal tunnel. in case you bend your wrist forward and circulate your arms (such as you are attempting to tickle the interior your elbow on an identical arm), then the tendons relatively run against the carpal tunnel. If it helps, placed a rubber band around your wrist. Then think of a string related out of your fingertips in the time of the rubber band to the interior your elbow. in case you bend your hand lower back, the strings rub against your wrist. in case you bend your wrist forward, the strings rub against the rubber band. Even area-to-area bending of your wrist could make problems. i take advantage of a keyboard this is cut up so as that my wrists do no longer would desire to bend to the realm to sort. carry your arms in front of you with each thing comfortable so as that your index arms very virtually touch. this is a organic place. Then bend your wrists outward somewhat so as that all and sundry your arms are in a line like they could be on a classic keyboard. experience the version? Advil or Aleve will help with the swelling. Tylenol won't.

when i was tested to see if i had carpel tunnel..the dr had me sit with my hands up bending at the elbows..told me that if my hands started getting numb it was carpel tunnel...had me put elastic braces on them expecially at night when i slept...can be bought at a drug store for a few bucks....you maybe getting it but at your age i don't think they would do anything about them....try the braces...and give them a rest.
