system to it. I am trying to hook this up for my son. He had the old XBOX system, which was connected to the cable box, and the red, blue, and green cables connected to the tv.
Now I disconnected these cables in order to hookup the new 360 system. I hooked up the power cord, and set the setting to HDTV, and hooked up all the cables (red, green, blue...etc..etc.)...He is able to play the game, but now I don't have the TV. I don't get a picture. The only way I do is to disconnect the 360, and plugged back in the original cables, (red, blue and green), which is connected to my cable box.
I don't want to have to do this every time he wants to play a game. I hope someone understand what I am saying.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Most HDTVs has at least two component (R/G/B) inputs.
Use one of them for your set-top box and use the other one for the xbox360. On your remote, use the input or source button to select the appropriate input.

If your 360 has HDMI, you may want to use an HDMI cable to connect it to the TV.

Not all channels are put out in HD. So lets say your display format is "widescreen," that means any channel that is not playing an HD program or widescreen program will look stretched and pixelated. Stretching of pixels will make the picture look somewhat blurry. The PS3 has its own setup you need to do as well. Start it up without any games in it and navigate to the display options. Set it up how you like from there. Since the PS3 doesn't come with it's own RgB cable (only the componant video cable) this means it will not display HD either (way to go Sony). Go out and buy an HDMI cable for it and you'll be set.
