theres a difference between thc/herb smoke then rat poison and the other crap put into a cig

Weed does not contain nicotine nor the horribly destructive tars and other poisons found in cigarettes. Also, weed put you in a laid-back position - not entirely convinced that the rat-race is where you wanna be. Plus, it is non-addictive, despite what they say, and scores positive on several levels. The addiction to nicotine, on the other hand, is almost totally negative.

Cigarettes provide minimal pleasure - again, despite what they say. Smoking merely satisfies an extremely strong physical need for a smoke.

So when you hear someone say, "I sure enjoy a good cigarette a few times (or 60 times) a day". What they often don't realize is that more nicotine merely satisfies the NEED for nicotine.

I know of a few people, not that old either, whose last request as they died of lung cancer was for me to light them another cigarette.

The real reason has been said but here are a few others

"It'll make you lazy and ask questions and that's why they are against it." (Ken Kesey)

Under the right cicumstances it can produce a sense of well being up to euphoria. Something that most folks miss in our money oriented, rush, rush society.

It has many medicinal properties and is a proven pain reliever.

There are negatives though and yo should know them as well as the positives.

The tars produced from smoking weed coat your lungs and over the long term can ruin your health.

It dan hurt your short term memory.

It can be mildly addicting depending on your physiology. But the effects of withdrawal are only minor depression for a few days to a few weeks depending on your makeup.

In my opinion, cannibis is a medicine for the malaze we of the industrialized mind set are affected by. Like any medicine, cannibis should be used with care. most folks party with it until it no longer has the benificial effect (I'm excluding pain relief) but just a dulling of the mind and then the negative effects can appear.

I suggest if you are to use cannibis - that you cook with it into brownies etc rather than smoke it. The effect is much, much stronger and you don't screw up your lungs. More importantly, I suggest you look at it as almost sacred, in that it can open your mind beyond all the blather we ingest from TV, gossip, etc etc etc. and allow us to see the absurdity of industrialized life as well as its positives. In this state, it is possible to connect to "Reality." and that is a benifit to you and to eveyone and the everything.

Finally; rmember, with any medicine the idea is to heal yourself and then let your own mechanisms take care of you. It's the same with all the phsycotropic medicines. Once you 'Get it" then you need to find a way to reach that place - whatever it may be for you - on your own.

Peace and Love and Happy Holidays.

Not sure better is the right word, since both ciggies & weed contain cancer causing properties, but on the other hand you dont need to smoke it every 20 minutes or so like you do with cigarettes. Plus, you get a high, which, provided you don't abuse it, is a gift. (Personal opinion of course) I hav'nt smoked it in four years.

smoking weed is much better then cigarettes :P and is not considered additive but smoking weed can lead to a addiction to the tobacco mixed with it so its possible to start smoking some time after

but smoking one joint is equivalent to having 2 cigarettes when thinking about harm to the lungs. this is mainly because of not using a proper filter in the joints

if you want to smoke. smoke but in moderation

sorry i misinterpreted the question
because smoking weed also buts you in a beautifull world rather then just taking one day of your life :P

It's not.

Most cigarettes have filters, offer "light" or "low tar" versions and one has a choice of inhaling.

On the other hand, pot users want to draw the unfiltered smoke deep into their lungs. Plus there's no quality control and "some of the other chemicals released by smoking are poisonous. These include tar, carbon monoxide, and cyanide. One known carcinogen, benzopyrene, found in both types of smoke, seems to be greater in marijuana smoke. Another problem with marijuana is that it is almost always smoked without a filter. ...Currently, it does appear that pot smokers may run an increased risk of cancer, as well as other health problems ...Some research has found a connection between pregnant marijuana smokers and rare childhood leukemias in their young children."

Smoking weed" causes you to "NOT" be able to exhale in the long term. Cigarettes causes cancer in most people, if they smoke it long enough, but not all get cancer from smoking. They will get other lung decease.
God Bless You (and don't start either)
