I think people relate to misery much better than happiness, because most people think there lives are generally more miserable than happy. People just talk about what they know.
I think if we all had a real understanding of what Heaven or the presence of God is really like, then we would never talk about hell. We would see all the marvelous creation taking place, and be in a state of pure happiness. I can't even comprehend it, but I still prefer to look towards that over the other options.
I think Satan is smart enough (since he's been doing his work for thousands of years now), to be able to get in people's heads and get them to focus on everything that's miserable about life, instead of focusing on the good and beautiful things life has to offer. And Satan may be able to bruise our heel, but we have the power to crush his head.
It's up to you to choose how you want to look at life, and creation. Do you wish to look at all the negative things, and hell, and see how miserable you can be? Or will you choose to look at life, and Eternal happiness, and how beautiful things can be?

God does not want you to believe in him out of fear, some religions want to control you through fear, instead of the way God truly intended, which is out of Love and only Love. When a parent can only teach a child to obey through fear, this is not good parenting. Of course, it is good that your child fears in some instances for their own safety since children are limited to experiences in life, until they are able to learn to make good judgments on their own. Sounds like it is time for you to think for yourself, search on your own and find the answers you seek.

Believing in God as a result of fear of going to hell is a start. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."
Now you must study God's Word, the Holy Bible, and grow in knowledge and grace. Be sure you have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus, God's only Son.
Read about Jesus in the New Testament. Soon you will realize what it means to be one of His followers. God bless.

one million. Hell interior the Bible is quite translated as "the grave" in the two Hebrew and Greek. Revelation has devil finally being judged and held responsible for each thing he has achieved. all the sins of the international that Jesus took on in his crucifixion will then be transferred directly to devil and he will die. How can there be an everlasting burning hell if devil is lifeless. isn't he the single meant to be doing the tormenting? undergo in innovations additionally that all and sundry the Angels/Demons that sided with devil will die too. 4. Being stored skill accepting the grace of Jesus and rules of God into your coronary heart. it quite is a relentless experience until eventually the two Jesus returns or you die. on the day you die your life and your options are judged in accordance to the mild you have been given. while you're in Christ then Christ's life would be judged rather of yours, and you get a pass into heaven and the hot earth. people who did no longer settle for Jesus will finally be judged and take delivery of everlasting demise (no longer an everlasting torment). 5. All have sinned and fallen in need of the honour of God. In Gods eyes there is not any difference between telling a lie and raping or murdering somebody. Sin is sin. there's a difference between how God judges our sins and how they are dealt with in mans earthly establishments.

You are supposed to love worship GOD because GOD deserves worship for being all merciful, all-gracious, and all-loving. Except to people who don't return the favour - those cats he sends to hell.
Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? The way you talk about GOD, you make it sound like he's some kind of omnipotent bully. +D

Fear of hell does not save you from hell. It should encourage you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. That should have be mentioned in a sermon or two.

`Salvation is like a marriage contract that YHVH offered the human family. Take His name, follow His rules, He will give you eternal life. If you choose not to accept His offer, (to not become His "bride") then you won't be resurrected with the righteous. His is the only righteousness--- you can't make your own. To get it, you must go to Him. If one is resurrected with the wicked, they then will be destroyed in the lake of fire which is the second death. (There is no eternal torment-- that is another lie) Does that clarify things a little?
