What with smoking bans in public houses, with huge fines for those that even dare try to light up, and at worst a public flogging shortly to be announced by the Labour party early next year according to insiders, the price of beer is set to rise.
Beer was once the poor mans way of unwinding after a long hard day, and a welcome escape from the wife and kids, in a small establishment where he was free to smoke, drink and have a laugh with friends and strangers.
Currently around £2.20 a pint, the price is probably going to reach £4 according to the breweries due to;
(a).The kegs keep getting stolen and melted down for scrap.
(b). Fields are now being used for bio fuels instead of hops.
I suspect there is something more sinister here, as average wages have undoubtedly sunk in many parts of the UK, with a typical minimum pre tax hourly rate at around £5.75.
Do you think the government is secretly trying to ban alcohol, starting by costing it out of the market?
