Here is a basic sketch of My beliefs
I am a born again Christian..I believe in God and Jesus beyond any doubt and I don't believe the creation of the Universe could have possibly been an accident.
i do not particularlry believe in Organized religion, I think most religions do just as much harm as good.
I beieve in prayer and i do so all the time.
However
I also listen to Hevy Metal Music...to Me it making a joyful noise unto The Lord
I drink, i'm drinking Jack Daniels right now actually.
i curse...I have read the bible 13 Times all the way through..I don't recall a verse saying "That shalt not use Harsh Language"
I believe that's a societal thing which has been imprinted into religion
I had all kind of premarital sex, i know that's a no no but I don't think God expects anyone to be 100% perfect
Oh, and I don't believe in forcing My beliefs down anyone's throat...If you're a Pagan, Wiccan, Atheist, Whatever..That's Fine
So...Am i going to Heaven or Hell..according to You?

Darth, lifes much too short to worry about whether you'll be in Heaven or Hell. Enjoy living now, you already know how quickly life can be taken away. Be humbled by the lives you've touched here at Answers, as well as in your personnal life.
Just know that when your day arrives and you come to the crossroads...stop by the side of the road and have a drink of Old # 7 with me.

You know, I've been meaning to ask the same question. I've gone to church all of my life and loved God all my life.
I know that some of the music I listen to is probably not pleasing to His ears, but I am hoping that I can get by on Faith, because I have a lot in Him. I pray to Him when I'm down and when I'm doing good.
I think that we're good people, and as long as we keep believing and ask for forgiveness for the little things we do, we'll be just fine.
I really hope so anyway.

-And you're totally right about the last thing. I'm a firm believer in not preaching down people's throats. I know if I was an athiest and I had someone cramming religion down my throat, I would be totally turned off.

I'm an atheist and I don't believe that either exists - I think this is the one shot at life that we have, and we might as well enjoy it rather than conforming to the expectations of religion - but that's just me.
Be the best person you can be for yourself and the people that matter to you.

According to the bible [Isaiah 64:6, I believe] "all good/righteous works are like filthy rags"... it seems faith is all you need.
But i'm always accused of taking the bible out of context - so obviously it may be interpreted differently.
Ok, there I go rambling again, hehe.
Merry Christmas Darth.

edit, Will; Well said.

Seems pretty simple to me. You're a Christian, so according to the Gospel that I know, if you ask for forgiveness and accept the Lord (which you already have) at the time of atonement, you'll be going to Heaven. Done deal.

In my mind, this shows how simple it is supposed to be, and how convoluted interpreting scriptures can get when "organized religion" gets hold of a concept. The whole notion of "you can't get to point B unless you jump through these hoops" is just silly. I can't follow a Deity that embraces guilt doctrines. The way I figure, if everybody just practiced conscientious behavior toward themselves and others, we'd all look [insert any religious practitioner] and the world would be a better place.

If you truly believe Heaven & Hell
- The literal Christian Belief is to ask for Christ to come into your heart, admit you're a sinner, & only He can save you, etc.
- The Nominal (and Newer) Christian belief is that God understands the struggle of Faith and does not punish you for that, or for sinning. As long as you don't sincerely Reject God, you'll be in Heaven (even if you "reject:" him in a moment of anger, etc.)
- There is no difference between God in the Old & New Testaments -- He appears Wrathful in one & Loving in the other, but he has not changed. He is Loving, but he may be intollerant of those who choose to remain "lost."
- I am not a Theologian; and this question is best answered by taking your own spiritual journey and talk to those of many Faiths & Philosophies.
- Don't worry about it.

As Curtis Mayfield once put it.."If there's a hell below,we all gonna go." I guess it's justa reflection of a world that doesn't care about each other..Your stance is yours and yours alone,as it is mine..only you,and me,know our own souls...and where we end up..I pray Curtis is wrong..I believe in an external drift..I remember my mother dying a painful death..and at the time her spirit placed her hand on me and said.."Don't worry"..If Life is Extraordinary..then Death Must be too.A lot of people are confused between the two..I say Nature is Creation and Creation is Nature..and I'll dig it till I'm dead...and maybe ,the Creator will call...a game of pool ,maybe?

In christian ideals there's a place observed as purgatory, and that's a place the place you are able to basically artwork off your sins. Say you have been a very stable guy or woman, very christian, constantly went to church, etc, yet purely till now you died you dedicated a sin, which you were not in a position to admit till now you died, rather of going directly to hell, you may flow to purgatory to artwork off the sin and then flow to heaven. Purgatory isn't interior the bible yet grew to become into invented later to unravel those varieties of issues. the main nicely-nicely-known account of purgatory happens in Dante's poems (a chain of three long poems, hell, purgatory, and heaven) In Dante's poems, purgatory is seen as a mountain so you might walk up in a spiral around the mountain till you're worth to flow to heaven. There are different ideals concerning to purgatory (it extremely is additionally nicely-called limbo) such through fact the thai concept that each and each grain of rice left on your plate after a meal "buys" you a 12 months in purgatory, till you are able to now flow to heaven. Geographically conversing mount purgatory is between heaven and hell. in case you have an pastime in purgatory, I strongly reccommend examining Dante's works, observed as the Divine Comedies (interior the previous which skill of the word, they do no longer seem to be comedies like something that makes you snicker, it form of purely skill a narrative). To be uncomplicated it extremely is the only faith with a thought of heaven and hell that i understand the foremost factors of. i'm uncertain approximately Jewish or Muslim ideals, and the different religions i understand approximately have not got heaven and hell, sorry approximately that. i'm hoping that's useful

As a Wiccan I do not believe in Heaven or Hell, although you haven't listed anything that would make me think of you as a bad person deserving of supernatural punishment. I'm impressed you've read the Bible 13 times and applaud you on your spiritual convictions.

That is not for me to decide. That is between you and the Lord. No one is perfect and no sin is better or worse than another. To God sin is sin. The only way you will go to Heaven is by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. Once you become a Christian you will want to do what is right. You want be sinless but you will sin less.

Well Darth, as a Pagan I don't believe in Hell.

I believe you will be going to 'the Afterlife', though I'm not entirely sure what that is, but I believe there is one, because I believe in ghosts and spirits.

Heck, wherever you're going, it'll be fun!

Edit :~

Darth, just looked at your last comment there, and, in my personal view, any member of the Armed Forces who just does their duty, for the right reasons {even if that involves taking life}, doesn't need to be forgiven.
