Hmmm.... an interesting opinion, but encouraging.

Mental manipulation is a good phrase. Few of the key issues:
- Women traditionally have been raised (incorrectly) to chase after men with money, often equating money with sexiness. Younger men typically have less money than older men.
- Virtually all, if not all major media outlets are controlled by nerdy old men. They have some fantasies of still being able to be the star quarterback in high school. So they promote older male stars as being 'sexiest alive' etc even if it is not true, and also set up disgusting older man/younger woman on screen pairings such as John Belushi/Courtney Thorne Smith. Brainwashing at its finest.
- Women do not mature faster than men. They have been just been trained to be automatons. Traditionally, increased domesticity has been expected of girls, so that they could maintain a home, be docile, and accept a controlling husband; while rowdiness and immaturity was accepted in boys as they would later be breadwinners. Few people exceed expectations. Those parents that demand greater maturity from boys get it. Social conditioning issue.
Thankfully these ideas are changing as society is coming to its senses with regards to this issue and the age gaps in marriage are decreasing in developed nations. The increasing power of women is to thank for this progress.

It isn't true. I would say that sometimes women are busy with careers, family life and don't take the time to look their best because they are so busy. They can get a great hairstyle, eat healthy, and take a little time for themselves. Otherwise, it is just a general statement. We all know ugly 30 year olds that don't try to look their best whether it is a man or woman.

Uglier? Hmmmmmm, I guess you just don't know some older women that would knock your socks off. Too bad. Most of the men that I know, all ages, have their days of being sexy and their days of being somewhere in the middle.

Grey hair looks more dignified on a man... and a couple of crinkles around the eyes make him seem wiser, like he's seen more and had more experiences in his life. For women, everything just starts drooping and looking... for lack of a better word, old. Women are taught that tight, smooth bodies are best. It's all in perception.

My guess: Men are considered handsome as they become more rugged looking. While a womans beauty is in her delicate features.

Some of that is in your head, but some of that is the result of wearing makeup. The body doesn't like it, and it ages you prematurely.
