Funny thing; my buddy just texted me Merry Christmas (buddy as in guy. Who's straight. I think? hmm.) It could mean just that; Merry Christmas.
But for me, I wouldn't make the extra effort unless the person means something more to me. Doesn't have to be in a romantic sense I mean, but its definitely more than your everyday common friend. Not to put it harshly.

Well, maybe...I've been telling people "Merry Christmas" all day. But since "texting" is a more personal gesture, maybe there is something more substantial to it. I hope it is. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.

For me, playing games is a a turn off. You will see him at work if I understand correctly; talk with him there and ask him if you may call or text later. He may have plans so you do not want to interrupt. If he does have plans, tell him okay and leave it at that. He knows you are interested and he may text you first. Good Luck TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS

uhmm i've gotten a ton of texts from guys who are just friends saying merry christmas. if you are just friends then i dont think that means he is interested.
