are there any sub charges for playing online with up to 40 other players. i don't know but my son seems to think there are but i haven't had to give out any credit details
please advise....thanx

No, PSN is free of charge, unlike Xbox live.

No, PS3 online is completely and 100%, there are no extra charges.
You should know that...if there were any charges they would have asked for some kind of credit card, but since your already online, there are obviously no charges.
Don't confuse free online PS3 with paid xbox live

no the ps3 network is FREE to use, its on the Xbox that makes you pay
