It needs to relearn the idle settings. Hold your foot on the gas at about 1500 rpms for a few minutes and that should do the trick. If it still doesn't idle, then you need to drive it around a little bit.

Usually this is due to a weak battery. The question is (and has been asked numerous times): why are you disconnecting the battery? If you are doing it while it is running, then yes, it will shut off. It needs the battery to run.

the computer has to relearn the settings so be patient and try to keep it running

Have your alternator checked for amps going to the batttery!!
