How do you turn off the PS3?

When i play my ps3 and im playing a game when i press the ps button and go to system shut down the screen goes black but the ps3 it self stays on and the green light flashes and stays like this forever.

Any help?? thanks

Usually I quit out of the game first before I turn the PS3 off. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but try quitting the game first to return to the XMB title screen and then turn the PS3 off by holding down the PS button for 2 seconds and go to "turn off system" or just hold down the power button on the PS3 until it beeps.

If the green light keeps on flashing your ps3 is definatlely busted.

You can still turn it off by using the switch on the back, press it down so it's on the O pressed down.

If your ps3 always does the green flashing thing in the future, it is busted.

your ps3 is propobly broken..but when your playing a game hit the ps button and quit game so you go to the main screen and shut it of there...this usally works
