I shopped at Anne Summers and totally surprised him on Christmas Eve. Well, you wouldn't want to face that on Christmas Morning would you?

I bought him a Wii game - he became an addict at my daughter's place last month, and so I got him his own. He was really surprised, and loves it! Last night we played a bowling tournament - its amazing because the remote control picks up your hand and arm movements, and you have to do the exact movements that you'd do at the bowling alley. Incredible technology . (I won the tournament !)

Today he went to the shop and bought 2 extra games - he has just spent the day "playing " soccer and gridiron. It is funny to watch him from a distance, jumping around the sitting room, swinging his arms ! He also did a "fitness test" this morning, and it told him he had the fitness of a 50 year old. He was stoked , since he is actually a youngster of 69 !

NB your third contributor is having a little dig, isn't he ? I'm sure we all know what a chatelaine is.

My husband and I agreed to not buy each other big gifts this year. We've recently shopped together for some expensive items and will go out again to pick out a new tv soon. I did give him a bottle of Irish Cream for his coffee on Christmas Day and the new James Taylor CD he was eyeing as we shopped for other people.

Well, my husband outgifted me once again! Every year he does something amazingly thoughtful and generous, like the year he had been after me to get rid of a nightgown that was falling apart, and I told him that even though I'd been wearing it for twenty years, I still loved it, so he took it to a seamstress and had THREE copies made! One year I had to open my gifts in order; the first held a big white terry cloth robe, the second, a swimsuit coverup, and the third - tickets to Cancun! Last year he gave me a mink coat and matching hat, plus tickets to the opera. Every year, I'm like - uh, here's a sweater.... This year we gave each other a cruise, so we agreed to just give a small gift for Christmas morning. So, I gave him the usual sweater, and he gave me two pairs of awesome tights!!! One has the pattern name of "kaleidoscope" the other "bohemian". They're bright colors with huge funky prints. Darn! Outdone again......

We agreed that we would just do for the children and grandchildren this year... with the price of things it's gotten pretty ridiculous! We have done a lot of remodeling, and we did just get the flat screen HD thing with surround sound! I'm telling you what, that surround sound will blow you out of the house... the cats run like crazy to escape what ever it is that is blowing up the den! Needless to say Action DVD's have been played a lot!!

And good for you Dear! I hope you had fun!

I bought him clothes. It's the only way I can get him into something new. He will wear the same old things year after year if I don't sneak them out of the closet and get rid of them. He will look spiffy in his new jeans and shirts.

My wife loves jewelry. So I got her a ring (again) and the rest I bought I made sure that it was from my granddaughter to her.
My granddaughter went shopping with me.
