If you have a salvage title, I was wondering if you are allowed to drive the car including on the highway in North Carolina after the repairs are made or if you are required to have the title changed to rebuilt/salvage after the repairs are made. I was told that your insurance agent can add comp and collision after they inspect the repairs but I was not sure if that would automatically change the title from salvage.

Once it has been rebuilt and inspected you get a rebuilt salvage title. Expect to pay around $300 for the inspection.

Most insurance companies will not put collision on a salvage title.

Call this number 919 - 861 - 3500. That is the number to contact the DMV office in Raleigh concerning salvaged vehicles. Im sure that they will have the answers to any questions you have.
