This could a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:

Possibly you were moving while taking the picture, or you were on the setting of zoom in. If you try to zoom out then maybe they won't be so blurry. Hope I can Help! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

maybe it wasnt in focus or the lens was dirty, check the lens
