I got a PS3 for Christmas and i was so happy... i plugged it all in, got it all set up, played it for around 2 minutes and it then switched its self off followed by 3 quick beeps and a red flashing light on the on/off button. this happens every time i switch it on within the first few minutes and the PS3 is in a well ventalated room so shouldn't overheat... ahhh! whats wrong with it!

If you ran update then you need to disable the information bar at the top right hand Corner of the ps3 main menu...Hope this helps.

Since is your first time playing it then you should let it off for awhile and if it does not work then connect and disconnect the main cord(where you connect it to make it go on). It should work because it happened to me and I fixed it by connecting and disconnecting the main cord.

Well ventilated room? Make sure PS3 has a 10cm gap around it to "breathe".

try this. when its turned off, when you go to turn it on, turn it one with the touch button on the console and hold it in until it beeps. that resets to factory defaults.
