There is a religious belief that the omnipotent is the embodiment of all human souls put together meaning we are part and parcel of that great soul. The saying God is in us is an allegory to explain that concept. Its like little circles contained in a large circle. Ordinary mortals have in them 'atman' (soul) and the omni potent is the 'paramathman' (the great soul)

Some religious greetings can be translated to mean 'I salute the soul in you' when in the philosophical rendering is 'I pray to the God in you!'

Since it is not clear to me what "soul" means for contemporary Christians, I am inclined to say, "No." This is because I am not sure that "People have souls" is a coherent statement, whereas the statement "People are souls" is coherent. Whether that last assertion is true or false is beside the point for the moment. One can affirm or deny coherent assertions, but incoherent are hard because one is never sure what exactly is being said.

So, if people are living souls, and people are not god, then one might assert that god is not a soul, and, per argument, does not have one either.

God is Soul.
So God doesn't have a soul but is the soul that runs through all of us.
Think of it as electricity running through your laptop, cell phone and microwave.
The electricity representing God and the appliances representing humans, animals, trees etc.

God is a spirit, not a soul. Actually they are 2 different things. Soul refers to human existence. Spirit refers to divine existence.

God is a part of YOUR soul. He is what makes up who you are inside. Some people don't view Him as a physical person, but rather, an entity much higher than ourselves and someone we can rely on for spiritual guidance.

Basically, He is everything good in YOU! :)
