Just guys? I resent that statement. If I had deep feelings (and I have) for someone that broke up with me, I feel horrible. I usually go through bouts of depression and I want to know why... Which they never tell me. I get over it in about 6 months to a year but no matter what I still have feelings for that person for the rest of my life although I try to rid myself of them by banishing the person from my life and finding reason to be angry at them. Sort of adolescent you might say but thats how I feel. Hope it helps.

It really depends on the situation. Two girlfriends ago, that girl broke up with me and I really liked her, you can even say that I loved her. When she broke my heart I was devestated. I eventually got angry and headed to the gym and I got a better body out of it and I upgraded the kind of girls I've gone after since.
