I haven't been able to have a bowel movement in three days. Tried everything over the counter. Dizzy, nauseous, bloated (my stomach is as hard as a rock) I've tried fiber... EVERYTHING.

Nothing is working. Could this just be my body being weird or can something REAL be wrong? I'm having an anxiety attack.

PS. I'd done the suppository thing and it didn't work... the problem is that it's RIGHT there but it won't come out. It hurts too much and no matter how much I push it just makes me too lightheaded. I would rather be rebirthing my daughter right now to be quite honest.

You've tried all the "oral" methods, but the ER would try the next best method...a warm water enema with glycerin as a lubricant. If that doesn't flush you out again, then you definitely need to see a doctor. In the meantime, keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water.

I really think that you may have a medical emergency on your hands and as such a visit to an ER in most definitely in order. The medical emergency I'm thinking about is something called an obstructed bowel . So get off of the computer and go to an ER -NOW!!
Good luck
Edit :
If you have a choice in the matter go or get taken to a Level I trauma center bc they will the surgical staff that you may need already in the hospital and if needed there will be an OR up and ready for use.
In medical emergencies the difference between a good outcome and a bad outcome often comes down to what hospital you initially went to -Go to the Level I or if you can't do that then a Levell II

Technically a BM every 3 days is considered normal. I agree with you, I would be uncomfortable. Fiber is a good way to maintain proper bowel function; but propabably will not promote a BM. It will cause a lot of gas and distention though. Try a big dose of Milk of Magnesia (60cc) followed by lots of water. It tastes so bad; hold your nose and take a bite of food before you let go of your nose and it will lessen the taste. This should help within 2-3 hrs. If your stomach becomes very rigid this could be a sign of a perforated bowel and would require an immediate trip to the ER as it could be peritonitis. That is life threatening. Good luck.

It is not abnormal for someone to have constipation beyond three days. I see that you have tried most oral methods. Have you tried an over the counter medicine called "Ducolax"? That medicine will flush out your system. Next thing to try is a supository. I am not sure if there is a supository available over the counter but you can ask your doctor you write you one. Supository will flush out your system in 10 minutes.

I don't think you have to go to the ER because there is nothing but being more hectic over there. You should call your pharmacy and ask them what is the most aggressive medicine available OTC ( over the counter). Or call you doctor and ask him / her to write you a prescription for supository.

Just don't panic or have anxiety attacks. Feel better!

Try an enema. If that doesn't work, call your doctor and ask if he thinks you need to see him or go to the ER.

Sorry to hear you are having such a crappy, or maybe I should say crapless Christmas.

Good Luck.

eat alot. and i mean alot. eat anything. eat chocolate, eat seconds at your xmas dinner, eat cakes, eat bread, drink something and if it still doesnt get anything out, keep trying.

it is not physically possible for your body to keep the stuff in there for so long. you will either have relaly bad stomach ache (see a doctor if thats the case, and yes, ER) or vomit it back up. or get rid of it. Lets hope you get rid of it.

If the suppository doesn't work - an enema will.
