Shouldn't it be a flat standard for everyone? And no one should use it? The reasons behind it don't make any sense...

I have a problem here. The other day I wanted to mention a female dog in the technical sense. The word b itch is not a bad word in English. No woman wants to be called one, but there is nothing shocking about it. However, one can't write it here. Similarly in the UK we take degrees summa c um laude, magna c um laude or c um laude (depending on how clever we are), but even this innocuous Latin word is not permitted under Y/A rules. And yet, if I move to another page, using another language, I can write words like that with impunity. This doesn't suggest a flat standard, does it?

I don't think it's ever ok to use an offensive word. I have slipped more than my fair share of times. I have no good excuses.

Bad language is just that, and really it reflects negatively on the person using it.

Perfect example... the "N" word can be said by black people to each other, but non-blacks cannot use it without being offensive. It has a different meaning when used by blacks as compared to non-blacks.

we are all free to use whatever words we want to use. no one owns any words. if someone has a problem with any thing you say, then they are the one that has a problem, it is for you to either be sensitive to their objection or not. the very fact that its ok for a gay person to call another gay person a f****t or for one black person to call another black person a n****r is discriminitory and racist in itself, if i cant call them the same thing that they call each other then they are the practitioners of the same discrimination and racism that they cry foul so loudly about. its called freedom of speech and this is a right inherent in all people and bestowed by god.

i frkn hate that! i hate the n word! i wish everyone would stop using it! how the Fk are people going to take a word that has caused so much pain and use it to "bond" with one another.

well say you say the n word to a black person, that would be extremely offensive
then say a black person called another one a n, that would sort of be not offensive becuz they are probobly kidding around..
