God told Adam and Eve to "replenish the earth" in the King James version of the bible. Yet there was nobody here before them (replenish), or was there.

Maybe it was because the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons had just died out, and God wanted Adam and Eve to make babies to replace them.

I think most of you don't understand the question fully. It is asking why did God tell them to re-plenish the Earth. Break the word down. Re and Plenish. "Plenish" means to fill up. "Replenish" means to fill up AGAIN. Making it sound as if there were lots of people/or something(s) inhabiting the Earth in big numbers BEFORE Adam and Eve... Also, Part of Isaiah 14:13(referring to Lucifer)reads "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God."kjv. I've heard it said that the Earth was under the rule of Lucifer before his fall. If not, then why use the word "throne"? And what exactly was his to rule? Did he own a throne, or is it some kind of wishful thinking?

King James was a very devoted Catholic that did not want the Bible in his county. But he could not stop them from being smuggled in. So he ordered his own made, with the order to change 400 words (times each used) to different meanings. And no extra information at the bottom of the pages. So as little truth as possible would get to his people.
The people of the time saw these wrongs and did not use it. It did not become popular until cults came to be that needed to distort words/meanings.
Over the past 400 years about 600 to 800 more words have totally changed their meanings; so the words don't mean the same today.
Even in the 1960s "gay" meant happy, cheerful. Now it means homosexual. Words change a lot.
I recommend you get a modern Bible, like the NIV.

Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, don't let these persons lead you astray. The interpretation is correct. The Earth is millions of years old and the Bible confirms this. For weak minded individuals this threatens the existence of God, for some strange and unknown reason.

There is much that happened on this world long before God put us here. Simple minds just cannot comprehend God being a multi-tasker.

God told Noah the same thing, by this other reference, the interpetation is confirmed.

Same reason He told Noah to replenish the earth

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Gen 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

I believe there was another people here first.......I believe the land of NOD had people thriving before the tiller of the ground came forth..........this land of Nod is where Cain went to dwell and build houses and later made musical instruments etc.

The earth is definetly much older then 6,000 years old....all things are possible for our creator....for he holds time in his hand.

Peace

Old English does not mean the same today as it did then, that is why we have updated versions of the Bible.
