My younger brother used to play dress-up with my younger sister when he was a kid...it was just good fun for him and my parents never made a big deal out of it. He's 31 now and happily married now...it wouldn't have been a big deal to me if he was gay or straight...he is straight.

I used to prefer playing with trucks to dolls, wearing boys' clothes...I was definitely a tomboy. I was glad that my parents didn't try to force any of us to fit in with society's ideas of what were the "right" toys or clothes for our genders.

Many boys take an interest in dance, and it's a great way for him to develop his strength, coordination, and balance. I wouldn't really worry about it.

cross dressing and homosexuality are not directly linked, nor is tap dancing an indication of homosexuality. you should do some research if you are truly concerned. either way you should make sure that your son feels loved and not ridiculed or pushed away. embrace your son for who he is and support his decisions. this is a critical time in his life, and any trauma now could directly affect the rest of his life.

My son is 7 and is in dance - tap, ballet and jazz. He's taken dance for 4 years and loves it. He doesn't dress up in dresses though.

But just because your son does, does not mean he's gay. Let him explore his interests and let him be. Don't discourage him from doing what he likes.

He will be the person he wants to be and we as parents need to love our children unconditionally.

I say let him do what he wants to do and like what he likes. He is who he is dont change him just to suit your needs or others. Most importantly if he is really really young that is a totally normal thing. I have a very tough 5 year old who loves football and getting into fights :/ but every once in a while I'll see him play with his sisters barbie and barbie car. They are just curious.

Pull your son aside and talk to him about it! You never now he could just be having fun. Tap dancing isn't considered just a thing for women. If he likes to wear dresses...well that's a different story so just talk to him about it! Hope I Helped and Merry X-Mas!:)

It depends on the age. When my brother was little he played with my barbie dolls. It is normal. And even if he was gay would you stop loving him? Don't discriminate just because he isn't the same as you. It's not fair. Be there for him and support him. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

How old is he? Lots of little boys like to dress up and dance. If your daughter put on overalls and used a hammer, would you be concerned that she was a lesbian? Either way, would you stop loving them?

Well you can handle this one of two ways:

You can fight it by signing him up for football, feeding him big steaks and baked potatoes, and subscribing him to playboy.

Or you can run with it and use him for decorating advice, share makeup and clothes and start planning your trip to Fantasy Fest in Key West.
