You ask about a worst case scenario. If that is the case, don't worry about it, you won't feel a thing.

If the gasoline is leaking, get out. The gas can be ignited by a stray spark or even just the heat off the exhaust.

Gas will just burn. A car has to be on fire for at least 15-20 mins normally before it "blows". And it does not blow like you see in the movies. Just a big POP and maybe a bang with it due to the tank breaking the straps that hold it on.

There is not Ka-BOOOOMMM. That is all movie making. I have put out a Cherokee that was on fire, entire interior was engulfed. No threat of explosion. I see this stuff at times since I work in the auto industry.

As someone else said if you think the worst case scenario is flipping your car with fuel splilling and you are aware of this and are able to get out this is not a bad scenario at all just get out of the car! Its not a very hard thing to understand and I think most people would act the same way.

Best case: 1) Different amount of preassure in tires. 2) You have to get the front chassis readjusted at a service place (not complicated, but might cost a little) 3) One of the brakes is constantly against drum (easy to fix) Worst Case: 4) Distortion in main integrity of chasis. I would try to see to that air is the same in both front tires. If that does not help, I would consider taking the chance to buy the car. It might still be something that is easy to fox, but you can't be sure.

As the other answers have stated, there is not going to be that terrific explosion like you see in tv and movies. If you do notice gas pooling, you'll still want to make a hasty exit. A car fire can go fast. If your window isn't already down, you can either kick it out, or you might want to keep a window punch on your person. Go for a side window, the windshield in designed to not shatter on impact. http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum4497.php

There is nothing there to cause it to explode only burn. Unbuckle your seat belt, break a window if one is not already broken and get away from the vehicle and call for help.
