Did my cat see a ghost? she violently attacked my wife, at night while sleeping.?

Ok, I had trouble falling asleep everytime i would close my eyes i would see a corpse or a black hooded figuere against a room wall so i was pretty freaked out before i even fell asleep, this is not normal for me. I fell asleep 40 minutes later i woke up screaming at the top of my lungs like ive never had in my life, i began to grab my wifes arm which was sleeping aswell and started to shout her name for her to wake up. at that moment she started to scream uncontrollably too, i thought she was just spooked by me but no. Her arm was covered in cat scratches and blood. (our cat was sleeping with us and is extremely affectionate esp to her) after she regrouped she said she saw a black apparition on the floor about half a metre where my cat was sitting on the floor and my cat was jumping frantically to get on the bed(using her claws to dig into my wifes arm) but my wife kept on batting her away since she was frightened. what happened here? i am extremely freaked!

From your story, you, your wife and your cat saw whatever it was that caused this upset. I don't know what it is and won't even hazard a guess.
This I can offer: first, how long have you been living in the house? If you are new there, then the possibilty exists that you have inherited a spiritual entity. If this is the case, you can try talking gently to it. Explain that you have come to live there and ask its permission to stay and that you will love to have it there with you. If you can accomplish this, the spirit will guard and protect you and give you advice, if you ask for it. If the entity does not accept you, then there is nothing you can do but pack up and leave.
The cat's attitude before you awoke screaming would have been an indication as to whether the entity is malignant or not, but you frightened the cat with your screaming, which is why it tried to seek safety from your wife. and tried to climb up her arm. It was you who woke up first, not your wife from the cat scratching her. The cat was either thrown from the bed when you started shaking your wife, or it climbed off the bed to investigate the entity and became terrified by your attitude and actions.
If you have been living in the house for some time, a few possibilities exist. Someone you know might have come to the end of their lifespan and appeared to say farewell, but then they would easily have be recognised by you. Some spirits only appear on "anniversaries" of their deaths, so that this may occur once a year, or even once every few years, depending on the event that ended their life.
That's the best I can do and I hope you resolve this.

Wow. I do know that animals, including cats can perceive things that us humans can't. For example, that tsunami that hit Indonesia a while back, there were reports of elephants running to higher ground way before the tsunami hit.

Now, as far as cats go, a long time ago, I had a cat that would just be staring at lamps and things for a long time. I would go to up to the lamp, wall or whatever to see if there was "anything" wrong, like, if the kitty would be staring at the wall, I would put my ear against the wall to see if the cat was hearing something behind the wall. I heard nothing, and the kitty was staring at the wall. It was sort of creepy but, I left it alone.

You obviously have some sort of "entity" in that house or "something" that should not be there and PERHAPS, you kitty is getting all spooked out. Cats do not get easily spooked as you described unless there was "something" going on.

Since you asked this question, has this happened again?

I tell you one thing you can do, get some sage, it comes in a small bundle, it lloks like dry leaves and herbs. It "cleanses" the room. You can find them at those "magic" shops for cheap. Look up sage online and see how it is used. I have some here and I use it once in a while. Try that.

Sounds like the cat was going to your wife for safety.

There are quiet a few paranormal investigators out there that could come to your home, perform an investigation, do a home cleaning ritual and so forth.

I would tell you to contact the guy that heads up the new show on A & E (Paranormal State), but he's paranoid that Beze the deamon is after him, so he's probably not the best one to contact.

Your reactions could trigger the cat's defensive reactions, which is probably what happened. Cats can 'see' all sorts of things but they usually don't go for the nearest person because of it. Hearing 'battle screams' from you both could be enough to cause the cat to actively try to defend itself in a sleeping area rather than make her run away.

Have you or your wife done anything associated with the occult? Like the ouija board or horoscopes or tarot or palm reading or any such thing?

If you have, repent, burn the board or horoscopes or whatever completely, renounce them (I renounce using ____.) and call on Jesus to forgive you and to protect you.

Because ouija boards etc open doors for demonic spirits to enter into your house, life, and even your bodies.
