i need to special order 8x6.5 garage door ..has anyone oder these from home depot and how much were they ...

you are looking at about 1000 bucks for a 2 car garage door standard size and about 1/2 that for a one car garage door. Home Depot and Lowes contract out the work.

If your 8x6.5 means 8'x6'6" this is a standard size door. It is only a special order because they do not stock it. Also their spring setups are really crummy and hard to install. Call a couple of door companies, free estimates only. Try to save more money by disposing of old door yourself. Get torsion spring and insulated if garage is attached. Pay upon installation only and use a credit card, it is good if you have a dispute later about the job. Get literature to make sure the door you get is the quality you pay for. All door hinge hardware should be 14 guage, not 18. Add strut scross top of door for existing electric opener or for later installation.

Menards have 8x6.5 doors..they are white and uninsulated. they cost I think $225.00..you have to order them..
