I learned some of it at University some years ago. I remember very little. I was studying philosophy and wanted to take another course, so it was kind of connected.

I found it fairly difficult to learn, because it was not as intuitive as other languages I've learned. (I also speak French and German and learned some Polish some years ago when I traveled to Warsaw). I found it about as difficult as Polish, because that language, like Greek contained many concepts and ways of expressing ideas we're not too familiar with from an English base. French, German and English have many similarities of grammar which makes it easier to grasp one if you get the other.
Greek is a bit outside of that in that it uses declensions (much more than German) and packs verb tenses with huge amounts of information. (In modern European languages, there is usually a lot of redundant information in a sentence you can latch on to, but Greek is very concice.).

I don't know greek or hebrew and yet I know the scriptures by the Holy Spirit.

There are many sources to get the original greek or hebrew words and meanings for any of the scriptures.

I suggest blueletterbible.org as a very good source.

I believe both greek and hebrew are rather difficult and if it weren't for sites like blueletterbible.org I probably would at least purchase a greek hebrew lexicon as a very useful tool in getting better understanding of some passages.

If you feel led of God to learn the language than don't just learn it MASTER IT.

I learned Greek when I was a kid. My parents spoke it and they sent me to school to learn it. It's not too bad when you're a kid. It's tougher when you're an adult. I don't learn things as easily as I used to.

It can be rather challenging writing in the language. Reading and speaking is the same as learning any other language.

GOD bless

I learned while I was in Greece as a teenager and my foster father is from Greece. I just picked it up after hearing family members speaking it 24/7. For me, it was harder to learn than Spanish. The first words I had to learn were: Yes, no. where's the phone, bathroom and the biggest one was: I don't understand.
