Personally, I don't care for those names, but of the two, maybe Peppermint, shortened to "Pepper." Pepper might actually be a better name than the whole "Peppermint" name. I know a black dog named "Shadow," but that's a little obvious I guess.

Peppermint, Scrooge is a mean name

Peppermint sounds a bit girly unless you call him Minty instead. But then Scrooge makes him sound like a grumpy old man! Bah Humbug!

I have always been told that your puppy will grow into their name. Do you really want an unhappy, sullen dog named Scrooge?

Go with Peppermint.

If you have to choose b/n the two, Peppermint. You will likely, inevitably, refer to him or her as Pepper. I think that is a nicer name.
However, if you intend to use its full name all the time, the best thing to do is to pick a one or two syllable name - not more - because dogs tend to respond better to shorter names. They learn and listen faster/better.

Peppermint for sure. Scrooge is just too hateful.

Peppermint, but think of some better names, like Brian, or Jessi, or Toby, look at the animal and think of a name that fits his looks or personallity.
