Used to have hominy soup and tamales on Christmas Eve. No I am not Mexican but had two Mexican ladies on our street. We just took up the tradition from them.
And besides pork tamales one lady always brought over sweet tamales filled with dried fruit. Miss those.

I'm making French onion soup.....some will have some,some will pass, I'd rather soup the buns and since there is no salad I like to offer it
