We have 37 states that have borders or open coastlines. Why just build a bit of fence here and there? Why not enclose the entire country with a wall like they did in China? Just think of how much more secure you would feel if nobody 'illegal' could get into the US. Just imagine a wall going right through the Great Lakes! Or maybe we could just drain the Gulf of M exico so they won't be able to swim here. The possibilities seem endless!

The wall is sheer idiocy, and expensive and bad for the environment to boot. How can a reasonable person believe that the wall will keep out a person who just walked from Guatemala? All it will do is create another momentary delay. These people who cross illegally are not taking an easy way out--they are desperate and are coming to the USA for jobs (already arranged and waiting for them most of the time).

As someone said, "a 12-foot wall is going to make for a lot of 13-foot ladders."

I like this art installation:

Don't get me started--it's Christmas for crissake.

The wall/fence starts with every available way for the illegals to maintain their lifes here in the U.S. unavailable. I have a bother-in-law at a school in Calif. that has seen a drop in enrollment, in fact will have to lay off a fourth grade teacher because of the lack of students. Don't really feel it has anything to do with the actions of our government, but do to the unability to find the right people to help them, so are returning to Mexico before having problems that they can't resolve right now. Before anyone gets on their high horse, take the path of someone trying to do everything right for themselfs or familiy and all the red tape and time it takes to do everything right, these people are better off returning to Mexico to avoid problems.

I think the fence segments are going wonders to prevent paraplegics from crossing the border. I only want illegals who can climb a fence in my country. Go America! Hooorah!

Is there a problem with illegals coming into the US via the Great lakes, into Mich or Wis?? No, I didnt think so. But there ARE millions walking across the Mex-US border, so obviously we need something to stop it, espicially since the Mex. govt is corrupt and gives advice on how and where to cross. THere plan is for a double fence, not a little chain link fence you see on tv. It will work

A wall? I'd like it, but it's not necessary, really. A firing line of machine guns would be cheaper. The old M-60's or the newer SAWs are ideal for this. Land mines are cheap, too. But before everybody gets all worked up, and to show I have a heart, I advocate warning signs posted in no less than 25 foreign languages. Just to keep it fair.

Build a double fence with razor wire on top between Mexico and the U.S. Enough space between the fences that if any illegal gets over the first fence, he or she will be caught between the fences. They have the border guards shoot dead the invader, throw the body in a portable crematorium right behind the border guards jeep. Then dump the ashes back over on the Mexican side. Problem solved.

they aren't funding it so i am not holding my breath.

they need to focus on workplace enforcement.
bust the employers and rake up the lawn companies. demolish the construction companies. clean up the janitorial and hospitality industry. we know where they are.
cut up the meat carvers. etc.
git em all...

enforce the law

THE INVADERS WANT JOBS -- CUT EM OFF AT THE SOURCE OF THEIR DESIRE.

kick the politicians in the butt and lets get this done.

oh yeah, a big big big big fence wouldn't hurt, but mexico really is fighting against the border fence and as long as they have oil then our hungry plotiticians will still be in the pocket of these foreign interests... blah blah
world domination... blah blah... evil empire...
nwo...ha ha ha they scream as we all run around in circles blaming everyone but the real plotters plotting and politicking and plotting...
these guys had 20 years to build it. you think it is gonna get done, much yet done
RIGHT? they will argue on just how high, who will build, etc, it is far from being built --- i want the illegals to self deport
self deport when there is no more $$$$$$$$$$$
to send back to motherlands.
yeah, let's build the fence too.

i totally agree with you. its funny when the wall went down in germany i thought we were above that sort of stuff but i guess not. i know its pretty serious they say down here but oh well its hard to keep people out that want to come hee and there would be other ways they are smuggling them over here all the time in vehciles and stuff also. i know that is hard to keep track of but a fense isn't the way to go. yes we'd have to have something to do with canada also? i mean there are people coming from that way also but mostly it is from mexico but its not all the illegal aliens either. there are alll sorts of peple that arre trying to get into this country and they do and we track them its unreal and we let them in. the ones 911 that killed so many hey did you realize that they all had names and kn ew who they were from what they did. i mean hey we had cards with their faces on it sadly we knew they were bad and they let them in i think the govt should rethink alittle and get moving on the things we know and get those out that are terrorists.

As I said before fences are for keeping thing in not out. It is the stupidest idea ever. Todays technoligie can be use to help control entrance to U.S. But that is to easy an anser for our gov. The gov. must waste money or it will get caught stealing from the public, and no one is suppose to know that the gov is nothing but theives.
