I believe the whole Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, as first given. Maybe some error has crept in where man has translated it, but salvation remains the same. I believe it all. If I couldn't trust the smallest thing, then how could I trust something like salvation. So I take well to your point.

You must understand that being a Preacher is a calling not a profession.
Many of the Preachers I hear to-day are obviously practicing their profession.
The Bible is either the inspired Word of God or it is a lie as far as this Preacher is concerned.
By the way my profession is a CNC Machinist, my calling is Preaching the Word of God.

I don't put much faith in the NRT version because it has been rewritten and the words twister to change the meaning.
Song of Solomon IS Song of Solomon and NOT Song of Songs.
If everyone takes the verst about adding or subtracting from this book then are they talking about the Bible en toto? Or just the book of Revelation.
Remember the Bible even though some clame to be inspired by God, is almost a history book. It deals with Jesus' teachings.
But man wrote it.

The Bible says there will be many false teachers and false prophets in the end days. Perhaps these days are here. Just look at Dennis Radar, the BTK killer. He was not a preacher, but he was the head of his congregation and "preached" salvation of Jesus Christ to other people.

Very good question and one that needs addressed.
You are evidently one who is led of the Holy Spirit.
It is God who brings men unto salvation, not men. God uses men to preach his message.
Yet, as you have noted, you have many preaching salvation, but do not believe the entire Word of God. Though God may use them by preaching to get his message across, this does not mean these men are standing on the Word of God.
That is why we see the many, many different churches today. Each with their own view or interpretation of the Word of God. Yet, can all of these be right? No. Most are wrong.
That is why the faith is damaged. So many come to get saved, born again through preaching, but end up in churches filled with dead man's bones.
What I believe a man needs when he is first born again is God. When the man starts looking to man, in most cases he is led asstray. The man must led God lead him. Yet, often times, the man leads the Holy Spirit and he ends up not where God wants him to be, but where he wants to be.
We must trust in the Lord.
How?
By faith that is instilled in our hearts when we first believed and are born again.
How do we know if we are not leading ourselves? By standing on the Word of God. And our understanding will not be contrary to God's Word.

Word for word is a complicated issue. the bible was rewritten hundreds of time by hand since they did not have coppiers. Errors were made. Errors were made in the translations. People still disagree what the translations mean. ome books have been accepted into the bible by know it alls some books have been omitted. The arrangement of the books, also, was arbitrary. Additioalyy all of language is a metaphor, An "orange" is not and "orange" it is a squiggle of lines. and the image of "orange" that you see when written is not the same as mine, perhaps you don't even see it you just taste it, so when people talk of literal translations immediatley the meaning of that is ambiguous and should not be taken at face value. Some interpretations of the bible by ones "literal interpretation" are simply impossible. The world is not 5,00 years old, we are not the center of the universe (there is no center) and two people did not have the genetic diversity to populate the entire human race for example. That's just for example...Don't be so hard on a guy whose caught in a very complex dogma.

Easy!
The preacher is most likely educated.
He understands allegory and folk tales and knows the difference between the two.
He probably knows the origin of the various books of the bible supposedly written by the individuals who's name appears on the book.
He finds the christian philosophy (the positive one not the fundie condemning one) interesting and even valid.
Maybe those reasons and others.

The Hour of God's Judgment is Come! Believers must NOW Flee the Churches!
The Bible teaches that in these days we should flee the churches. Gods judgment has begun, and God starts it at the external church. We should, if possible, fellowship with other believers; (He.10:25) but not in a church.
Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Re.14:7)
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: (Matthew 24:15)
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. (Lu.21:20-22)
In these verses, Jerusalem and Judaea refer to the external or corporate churches. The ETERNAL CHURCH consists of all those whom God has saved and these will live with Him forever in Heaven.
The armies are Satan (the antichrist), as he comes with his false prophets and lying signs and wonders.
This is Gods judgment on the church. See also:2 Thessalonians 2:1+.
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Pe.4:17)

I'll put my faith in God first, then the Bible. Though I trust that the Bible is faithful and true to the word of God - I must always reserve judgment and approach life through prayer, meditation and contemplation as truth is reveal to me.

If you want to buy a FORD, you go to a FORD dealer, you expect for your salesman to believe in FORD. You don't go to a FORD dealer or saleman that prefers TOYOTA.
Same with the Word of God, you go to the proper source. If they don't accept the Word of God as Inspired, there are churches where the Good News is still proclaimed.
