My grandpa. He died 10 years ago. I miss him every day, especially around my birthday, cause his was the day after mine, on September 12.

I miss my maternal grandmother, but not any more at xmas than I do the rest of the year.

Reason number one: she died 15 years ago, the pain isn't fresh anymore.

Reason number two: she was 85 y.o. and not in good health - it wasn't exactly a surprise when she died.

Reason number three: I miss her the most around the end of October - that's when her birthday was. (Also when Samhain is. I used to be pagan/Wiccan, and Samhain is the day for remembering lost loved ones.)

I am missing some one, but more feeling the pain of my wife's loss. In a 3 month span 2 years or so ago, she lost her grandfather who raised her for part of her life, her mom to cancer and then as her mother died her family tore itself apart resulting in her having to remove the rest of her family from her life.

My husband. We had to spend it a part because my family lives 500 miles away and he needs to spend it with my stepson. A big one: My grandparents. They were the best people in the world.
