A short bread cookie dough variation?
Let it warm up a bit and try baking a few cookies. If you like them then you are good to go.
Worse thing that can happen is that your dough really has lost too much moisture. If so, slice and bake the rest. When it's cool make cookie crumbs. You can use them for a cookie crumb pie crust. Fill it with just about anything you'd use a graham cracker crust for. How about banana cream, chocolate cream, or lemon meringue pie? Mmmmm.
All is not lost.

if making a pizza dough, you need salt, egg, sugar, oil, and mix it all in; but first of all you need warm water with 'yeast' thats whats made the dough rise. You need to put shortening spread in a bowl and grease the dough in there and wrap it with plastic wrap and it will rise the next day. If dry, then add a little more water when mixing.

What kind of dough? Sometimes with cookie dough, they have you roll it out into a 2" diameter or so roll, wrap it in wax paper and put in the refrigerator to firm it up so that you can cut it into cookies and bake. If that is the case, then you might have to thaw it out, roll it into a long roll of 2" diameter, then put back into the refrig .

it likely dried out in the fridge too long. Try letting it sit under an slightly damp kitchen towel for a little bit.

It will be ok......just let it set out for at least 1-2 hours. Try in one hour to knead it with your hands. When it is ready for you to roll, or use you will know....it is just too cold to work with so be patient.
Merry Christmas...I've just reached level 4...a nice Christmas gift...
