My gosh, I have never heard of using cornstarch in baked beans. I do mine on the stove in a big kettle, with the brown sugar and other secret ingredients, my beans are thick and do not run all over the plate. No flour, no cornstarch, just cooking at the right temp and minding the pot and done in just about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.
My family keeps requesting me to bottle them up and sell them....My sister keeps bugging me to contact Paul Newman to bottle up the beans too.....I m afraid my baked bean recipe will just die with me......as it is only in my head and heart because it is something no one can take away from me, without a couple million bucks you see......Merry Christmas to you and yours......
