also, i was told not to change the original ring that they pierced it with until 3 months was up. my 3 months is in february, so i wanna know would if be bad if i changed it in january instead? will anything happen if i change it early, or am i just waiting for nothing really?? i got new rings for christmas and wanna put them in but i don't know what will happen if i do..

help would be appreciated.

Peroxide is not a good idea - what did your piercer tell you to do? The old standby of sea salt water is always a good thing. Antibacterial soap daily is also another good thing. Keep clothing that snags and grabs away from it too, and don't play with it.

If your piercing is really red, it is not the time to change jewelry unless it is cheap stuff that is causing the irritation. Additionally, a lot of jewelry that can be bought at stores (not piercing studios) can be of substandard materials.

I would recommend that you bring your jewelry to your piercer to have it looked at and have the first change done by him/her.

Peroxide isn't a good idea at all. It will dry out and irritate the piercing more then help it. To get rid of an infection you could try to keep cleaning it (with sea salt soaks), and take care of yourself - eat right, get enough sleep, all that fun stuff. But a doctor would still be the best one to see, in case that doesn't work.

3 months is way too soon to change navel jewelry. You should wait until it heals, so closer to a year. If you change it early you risk getting an infection and irritating the piercing. If your navel is still really red that is a good indicator that it's nowhere near healed yet.

one million) Because this can be a floor piercing, I have no idea why it makes a change, sorry. two) Try utilising liquid antimicrobial cleaning soap two-three instances an afternoon. And additionally, check out blending hot water with natural sea salt ( NOT IODIZED ) in a shot glass and lay down with it over your navel piercing for five-10 mins. You must wait approximately five days to begin cleansing. three)I'm no longer certain if that is k, however I would not do this considering the fact that there is also chemical compounds specifically for the eyes in it.. four)About two weeks.

I used peroxide on mine and didn't have any problems. Healed it quite nicely. Your piercing will be red for a while and sore. I wouldn't change the ring until you've had the original in for at least 3 months, but I'd wait longer. It's not worth pulling out the ring and having it close. You'd have to wait a while to get it re-pierced.

dont use peroxide first off. take a shot class, and fill it with salt and water, then lay down and put it on your belly button, that cleans it right out. also spray the top and bottom with bactine 4-6 times a day, which you can get at shoppers for like 5 dollars, thats what my piercer told me to do. Changing it a month early wont do much if you take care of it properly, i changed mine after about 2 weeks and its fine.

Ue anit-bacterial sopa daily, that should help. You should change our ring until your time is up because the peircing can close or get infected that way. My sis had her navel price and she took it out early and the peircing had got infected. I would wait tilll feb when your suppose to change it.

Changing it early is not a good idea - even if it looks heals chances are it isn't and you could irritate it and cause an infection.

I didn't change mine for a year...it got infected a couple of times.
How do you know its infected? Mine was hot, dark red, itching and draining thick yellow - peroxide cleared it right up.
