I've just been diagnosed with neurological pain 6 months after bilateral hernia surgery .Apparently, the surgeon cut a few small nerves during the incision and now I have almost constant pain in the area. Has anyone else been diagnosed with the same issue and what do you do to ease the pain? I've been trying heat, cold and pain medication with little help

See a neurologist.

There are several drugs like neurotin that are not classified as pain medication but work very well for nerve damage pain.

Having neurological pain is a bummer! I have severe spinal problems from the neck to the tailbone. A year ago I had a total hip replacement surgery and I haven't walked since. The doctor says the hip "looks fine" and it's neurological pain. I take that to mean his scalpel got frisky and the techs on orthopedic 6 where I stayed for 3 days yanked me around like a donkey on a rope! They were aware that I'd had multiple surgeries on my spine but hey! they didn't consider that anything to care about. I take Neurontin 300 mg. three times a day; Lortab, and Soma all of which help some. Not a lot, but some! I just rely on my spine surgeon to keep me as healthy as possible. The one who did the hip surgery is in my "CLOSED" file!!

I agree with other answer too; also may try Neurontin. Possibly in time, the nerve endings may start to heal with lessening of inflammation and your pain will get better.
