OK...I got a new cat who is 4. I put her in the bathroom again last night . When I went in to check on her there was a small sac-like (about the size of a quarter) that appeared to be covered in mucus on the floor. There appeared to be a piece of spaghetti (probably a worm) and a little bit of red. Her records indicate that she was given a wormer on two occassions while at Petsmart - could this still be worms? Also, she was given Frontline at Petsmart, could she still have fleas? I am just nervous since I have another cat at home. Any thoughts?

Yeah it could be worms. Depends what they used to worm her - if it was a pet shop wormer it was unlikely to have worked. Depending on how long ago the cat was wormed, could still have fleas although you haven't mentioned any signs of these

Get the cat a checkup at a vets; standard procedure for when you get a new animal, then you can mention these concerns to the vet.

what was she dewormed with?? by a vet or with over the counter wormer?? over the counter stuff does NOT kill all worms.. a vet would know by a stool sample if she has worms, what kind, and treat accordingly...

never NEVER trust pet stores - they are not vets.. they are in it for profit!!! they just want to make a sale and not all their staff is even half way knowledgeable about critters...

hairball.....they have treats you can get at any store that will help with hairballs....kinda gross huh?

Sorry I didn't read the whole question....you may want to take her the vets. It does sound like worms but the blood is not normal!!

Take her to see a vet - sounds a bit like she might have miscarried
