Who got a puppy for christmas??? Were you happy or did you wish you didn't get a puppy??
Did you get supplies with the puppy?

Just so you know, I didn't get a puppy and I didn't want one either....
I don't believe in giving any kind of pets as a gift ever!!!

I think a puppy is fine for Christmas - IF the person is prepared for the dog & has planned well in advance.
If it's not an impulse buy & is a well bred puppy - then it's OK - but this usually doesn't happen.
PS - We have ten dogs - no puppies! They all got new chewies & toys for Christmas. They are very happy & they LOVE helping open their presents. We always give them their presents first or they drive us INSANE of course! LOL

I got a puppy for Christmas! The three and a half year old Border Collie we adopted about two months ago! Haha.

She wasn't really a Christmas present, but she is the best gift I've ever received.

Merry Christmas! Hopefully those who did get a puppy (or any animal) have done the right amount of research. I'm sure we'll be bombarded with "Help! My 4 week old Labrashitzpoo is pooping blood" questions for the next three weeks.

Sad, isn't it?

EDIT: Oh no, Mimi. A border collie pup? Oh please tell me you know about the breed.

I'm very happy that I didn't get a puppy for Christmas. I hope no one gets any puppy either.

No puppy here! YEAH!!!
I also dont beleive pets are Christmas gifts...
I always tell people the pups that are sold at this time of year are lowest quality - bred to be sold as gifts to make somebody money... no concern to genetics etc...
a reputable breeder would not breed pups to be gifts...

I didn't. I have my two furry little babies with me all cozy and warm (Spoiled :D) at home. (My kitties)
I don't believe in giving any kind of animal for Christmas, because most people end up having to give them away, especially if they are for children, and most people end up dumping their unwanted puppies on the doorstep of animal shelters, or just throwing the poor pups into the cold, and letting them freeze to death. (Poor babies).

I did, and I am very happy about it. I have a long coated blue merle male chihuahua. He is beautiful with shiny black eyes that glisten like beads. The other dogs love him so far. He's very docile, but that is common with long coated chis.
