I bought my little cousin a Bratz doll thing for Christmas, but after I got it, I found out that her mom had already got her 1. I had lost the receipt, so I couldn't take it back. Soooo, I asked my bf if he wanted to get it for his daughter. He said yes. So I was like ok & I bought my little cousin something else. When I got home, me & my one of my cousins were wrapping gifts & on that gift we put to ....., from daddy. He was like "no, that's from Bri (me)". I was looking like "huh???". I thought that he was buying it from me for his daughter, so I just laughed. Soooo, this morning he got up to take her her gifts & was like where's the one from u. I told him that I had sold it to my aunt for her daughter. He says that he was just playing about not paying me for it & I was wrong for that. Was I??? This was a $30 gift & he made me think that HE was going to buy it for his daughter & had me spending money again to buy my little cousin something else. I think that he was wrong. How was I suppose to know that he was playing?? He sounded serious & I really wasn't planning on buying his daughter a $30 gift. Please help b/c he has me feeling like I did something wrong!!!
Thanks for ur answers.
BTW, I'm 29 weeks pregnant with his 2nd child, my 1st.

Honestly, I think you sound cheap... Why not buy his daughter - the sister of your unborn child - a Christmas present?? $30 is really not an unreasonable amount of money... I bought presents for my partners god children that cost that! You are meant to be this girl's step mother - act like it! If you think $30 is an incredible amount of money to spend on what should be a loved one - you are going to have problems when your own baby arrives... And surely you would like other people buying prezzies for your little one next year? What goes around comes around...

I'm sorry about your grandmother.. that's a shame... sending hugs and good thoughts your way

and as for the Bratz Doll Incident - maybe your boyfriend needs to take serious conversations and agreements seriously, instead of joking around...

take care.

I bought my boyfriends daughter a gift. I am also pregnant with his baby. I wouldn't have asked him to pay me back for the gift or sold it to someone else.

I am sorry for your loss . if this is the 1/2 sister of your soon to be baby then $30 is not too bad to spend

You're knocked up by him, and you are too cheap to buy his kid a present? If you're really a couple you should treat her as any stepmother would and buy a gift from both of you.

**Liz is absolutely right... Gifts for my kids this year ran as high as $500 this year. A lap top for one, a Nintendo DS for the other.. $629 for TWO presents.
30 bucks is nothing.

I'm so sorry about your grandmother! Good luck with your future baby! And remember- his daughter will be your babies half sister, it wouldn't hurt to buy her a present!

You're getting slammed for this question...at first I thought the same way then after giving it some thought....maybe $30.00 is a lot of $ for you right now. Don't stress...just apologize and learn from it...communication is key...tell your bf that you'll make it up to her on her b-day....maybe you thought he was buying something for her on your behalf!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...I know what it's like to lose a loved one especially during the holidays.
Good Luck and please don't stress....life is about learning.

Well, he is your bf, and if you guys share costs in the house and whatnot, let it go. Especially with a baby on the way. Good luck and congrats! My prayers are with you and your family.
